2008 Fiat Fiorino Qubo Free Space

Fiorino Qubo is the name of the new car marketed by the Fiat dealer network. This original name clearly conveys the model’s attributes: it is reliable and robust, as well as being uniquely practical and versatile. And the original choice of the letter Q evokes the distinctive personality of the car as much as the rounded profile of the exterior shape.

Created as a result of a manufacturing joint venture between Fiat and PSA, the Fiorino Qubo is made at the Tofas factory in Bursa (Turkey) – where the Fiat Doblò is also made - and this month it will be launched in France, followed by Austria, Poland and Hungary in July and August. It will then become available in Italy, Germany and Switzerland, and will arrive in Holland, Ireland and Belgium in October. Next year the launch will conclude in Great Britain and Denmark.

2008 HARTGE BMW 135i Coupe

HARTGE has given the world’s first inline six-cylinder engine with twin turbo-chargers and a second generation direct-injection system a power boast of 44 hp – and that at the same time as maintaining its extremely good fuel consumption of only 9.2 litres per 100 kilometres (EU combined). For the dash from 0 to 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph), the 135i Coupé from HARTGE is half a second faster than its standard brother while the 25 mm lower sports suspension guarantees safety thanks to even greater directional stability and outstanding handling on twisting roads.

Porsche Doling out the Profits

Porsche SE, is raising the annual bonus of its workers by 15 percent, or 800 euros (~$1,347), for being more productive. While Porsche has yet to announce their fiscal-year revenue, they have actually had a gain in sales in the 10 months through May to 6.02 billion euros. Their latest Cayenne SUV helped bolster sales by 47 percent.

Our take? Would an American corporation ever do this? No. They’ll sooner fire you as “cost cutting” measures so their CEO can get a bigger bonus. (And folks wonder why the UAW's still around.) If you’re more productive, that productivity disappears into a corporate black hole.
